Anbumani welcomes State move to buy stake in NLC

June 28, 2013 02:23 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 08:32 pm IST - TIRUCHI:

The former Union Minister and PMK Youth Wing leader Anbumani Ramdoss on Thursday welcomed the Tamil Nadu Government’s move to purchase shares of Neyveli Lignite Corporation that the Centre has proposed to disinvest.

But the shares to be purchased must be registered in the names of employees, he told presspersons outside the Tiruchi Central Prison after calling on 24 PMK members who were detained under Goondas Act following the Marakkanam violence.

Mr.Anbumani termed the detention of PMK workers as the height of political vendetta by the ruling party. The number of cases booked against his partymen under National Security Act was more compared to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, he said. People would teach a lesson to the AIADMK in the Lok Sabha elections.
