Cadres of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam staged a fast stir at the New Bus stand here on Monday, demanding the arrest of the former Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology A. Raja ‘in the wake of the spectrum scam’.

They also urged the Centre to take steps for recovery of money equivalent to the loss in revenue to the exchequer caused by the scam.

They also urged the State government to initiate action against the ‘benami’ real estate dealers who have acquired lands at a throwaway price for a private factory set up at Naranamangalam - Karai village in the district.

They wanted the State government to sanction adequate compensation for the crops damaged by the November showers.

Vaigai Selvan, State secretary of the party’s Art and Literary wing led the stir. P. Ilavazhagan, district secretary of the party; A. Ilavarasan, Rajya Sabha Member; M. Chandrahasu MLA and A. Arunachalam, former deputy speaker of Assembly were among those who participated.
