Close on the heels of success of two hi-tech parlours in the city, Aavin plans to set up a hi-tech parlour in Perambalur at a cost of ₹70 lakh.

The fully air conditioned parlour will house all products of Aavin including flavoured milk, milk shakes, butter, ghee, paneer, badam mix powder, hot badam milk, Ooty tea, buttermilk, milk powder, Aavin ice-cream and other products. It has been planned to sell various premium ice creams and snacks too.

V. Subbu, General Manager, Tiruchi District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (Aavin), told The Hindu on Saturday that the site has been identified for the parlour in Perambalur on its own premises and construction activities would begin soon.

Two modern parlours constructed at the Tiruchi District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (Aavin) at Sembattu on Tiruchi-Pudukottai Highway and at the Aavin’s Old Milk Farm (palpannai) have already been opened for business.

They were constructed at a cost of ₹70 lakh each. All-weather fridges of various sizes and freezers have been set up and the parlours have been provided with fancy chairs so as to attract youth and family members.

R. Ravikumar, Deputy General Manager, Production, said that the parlours were set up based on the success of hi-tech parlours in Chennai. Each parlour has been transacting business to the tune of ₹50,000 a day. The parlour at the Old Milk Farm had received tremendous response. A few more customer friendly facilities would be established at the Old Milk Farm soon.

V. Kamaraj, Assistant General Manager, Marketing, said that the hi-tech parlours had become an instant hit. They had sufficient space for car parking. Moreover, a children’s park has also been set up. Besides local customers, highway travellers stopped at the parlours in large number.

He added that all products of Aavin plants in different parts of the State would be available in the parlours. Besides marketing high quality products, prices were also highly competitive.
