A large number of devotees pulling the temple car of Sri Ranganathaswamy on the occasion of Chithriai car festival at Srirangam on Saturday. A large number of devotees offered worship and pulled the car of Srirangam Sri Ranaganathaswamy Temple on the occasion of Chithirai car festival on Saturday.

The idol of Namperumal, adorned with the gift articles ( choodi kalaintha vastram ) received from Sri Andal temple in Srivilliputhur was brought to the Chithirai ther mandapam in the early hours of the day. At about 6 a.m., amidst religious fervour, the devotees pulled the car all around the Chithirai streets. The festival commenced on April 10 and the car festival marks the ninth day rituals.
