Samayapuram temple kumbabhishekam: Temporary bus stands set up

The Tiruchi Rural Police and the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department have jointly announced changes in vehicular movements in connection with the ‘Maha Kumbhabhishekam’ of the Arulmigu Mariamman Temple at Samayapuram near here on Monday to ease congestion in the town.

The ‘Maha Kumbhabhishekam’ is slated to be held from 6 a.m. to 7.20 a.m. Temporary bus stands have been established at Samayapuram for the event and the routes to be taken by heavy goods carriers and buses charted out.

The regulation of vehicular movements would be in force up to 10 a.m. on February 7 for the benefit of the devotees and to ease congestion in the town.

Temporary bus stands have been established near the ‘Aatu Sandhai’ and at Om Sakthi Nagar in Samayapuram.

The existing new bus stand at Samayapuram will be a parking lot for two-wheelers.

All buses proceeding towards Samayapuram from Tiruchi and those coming to Samayapuram should stop at the temporary bus stand near the ‘Aatu Sandhai’ to drop and take in passengers. All buses coming to Samayapuram temple from Thuraiyur via Manachanallur should come to the temporary bus stand established at Om Sakthi Nagar to drop and take in passengers.

All Tiruchi-bound buses from Chennai should enter the temporary bus stand near the ‘Aatu Sandhai’ to drop and take in passengers. Buses coming to Samayapuram from Lalgudi via A. Thuraiyur should stop at the temporary bus stand near the Mukhtheeswarar temple.

Devotees coming by cars to the temple should park their vehicles at the rear side of the ‘Aatu Sandhai’ passing via Sellandi Amman temple. Devotees dropped at the ‘Aatu Sandhai’ temporary bus stand should proceed to the temple via Bhojarajan temple, Pudhu Theru, Vaara Sandhai, Sandhai Gate and Theradi Veedhi.

Upon completion of ‘darshan’ the devotees have been asked to proceed to the ‘Aatu Sandhai’ temporary bus stand via Naganathar Tea stall cut road, Anna Nagar, Singaravel Nagar cut road and Mariamman school. Temporary toilets have been put up at the temporary bus stands and near the Vijaya petrol bunk.

A press release issued jointly by the police and HR&CE said arrangements have been made to sprinkle ‘Kumbhabhishekam’ holy water on devotees at 42 places in the town. The HR&CE department has made arrangement for free darshan at the temple on Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Goods carriers

All heavy goods carriers and other buses proceeding in the Salem route from Tiruchi would go via Kudamurutti check post, Jeeyapuram, Pettavaithalai, Kulithalai, Musiri and Thottiyam and return in the same route.

All heavy goods carriers and outstation buses coming towards Tiruchi from Salem and Namakkal would be diverted at Musiri Kaikaati and proceed via Kulithalai, Pettavaithalai, Jeeyapuram, Kudamurutti check post and return in the same direction.

All heavy goods carriers and outstation buses coming towards Tiruchi from Ariyalur would be diverted at Pullambadi Kathiri Paalam and go via Sangenthi, Thachankurichi, Irungalur Kaikatti to reach the national highway and return in the same direction.
