ONGC launches mobile medical unit

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) launched a mobile medical unit in Madanam village of Sirkali taluk in Nagapattinam district to serve 24 locations around the region.

This is in addition to the first mobile medical unit at Narimanam, which has been functioning successfully for the past five years and more. The facility has been established under the oil major's corporate social responsibility activity. The additional mobile medical unit was flagged off on Thursday by ONGC General Manager N.P. Sridhar in the presence of ONGC General Manager V. Sundararajan.

The ONGC had signed an MoU with the voluntary organisation Helpage India to operate the mobile medical unit for a period of five years from October 2010 to September 2015 and later the agreement was extended by another 6 months. Now this has been extended for three years from May 2016 to April 2019.
