Sir C. V. Raman memorial endowment lecture
The nation’s progress depends on how people think and how thoughts are transformed into action, observed Vijendra Agarwal, former Executive Fellow at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) who was delivering the Sir C. V. Raman memorial endowment lecture on “Global trends in science and technology: India’s challenges / opportunities” at National College. “A developed India by 2020, or even earlier, is not a dream. It is a mission we can all take up and succeed. We must educate our children to compete in an age where knowledge is capital and the marketplace is global,” he said.
Dr. Agarwal also inaugurated an international conference on “Recent advances in engineering and technology” at the M. A. M. School of Engineering, and elaborated on why research skills are critical for innovation and development.
