734 get jobs through mela

Over 1,100 took part in an employment mela here on Thursday of whom more than 730 emerged successful. According to an official release, the camp was conducted under the aegis of Pudhu Vazhvu for educated men and women.

About a dozen organisations, including L&T,TVS, MRF, CNC, Global Business Associates, Intimate Fashion and organisations like Hotel Savera, Hotel KFC, and Catering Management Institute, Thuvakudi, recruited 734 candidates .Orders have been issued for training and appointment to them.

They have been absorbed as fork lift operators, fitter, carpenter, mason and nurse. Besides, they are to be imparted training in various trades, including catering management, automobile mechanism, garment making and electrical works. Darez Ahmed, Collector, handed over the training\appointment orders to 734 candidates from the 1,164 participants.

Those selected would get a stipend of Rs.2,000 to Rs.6,000 apart from free boarding and lodging. Those who have been directly appointed would get a minimum of Rs.6,000 and a maximum of Rs.12,000 as salary a month.

In addition, 44 candidates selected by Global Business Associates would soon get passport.
