59,000 write TNPSC exams

30 visually challenged appear for the tests

More than 59,000 appeared for the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Group IV and Group VIII examinations in this district on Saturday.

According to Collector Jayashree Muralidharan, candidates took the examinations at 102 centres in the district, including 45 in Tiruchi, nine in Lalgudi, four in Manachanallur, eight in Manapparai, 12 in Musiri, five in Srirangam, nine in Tiruverumbur, three in Thottiyam and seven in Thuraiyur. About 30 visually challenged also appeared for the examinations.

As many as 23 flying squads were deployed to keep vigil.
