Flying squads with nearly 50 officials have been formed

Nearly 30,000 students would sit for the Plus Two public examinations to be held from March 1 to 27 in Tiruchi district.

While 17,986 students would take the exams in Tiruchi educational district, 5,625 students will appear in Lalgudi educational district and 6165 in Musiri educational district.

The practical exams would be held in 160 centres and theory exams in 83 centres across the revenue district, Collector Jayashree Muralidharan has said.

Private candidates would appear for the exams in 10 other centres.

Chairing a meeting to review the arrangements made for the conduct of the exams, Ms.Muralidharan said question papers would be stored in 12 strong rooms in the district. Police protection would be provided in all exam centres. Flying squads with nearly 50 officials have been formed to conduct surprise checks at the exam centres. Stern action would be taken against students found indulging in malpractices.

Both invigilators and students have been barred from taking mobile phones or other electronic gadgets inside the exam centres, she said.

District Revenue Officer T.Thyagarajan, Chief Educational Officer Selvakumar and other officials were present.
