23 Tiruchi schools ordered to be closed

The Tamil Nadu Department of Elementary Education inspected the schools and found them functioning without government recognition.

Twenty-three unrecognised nursery and elementary schools in Tiruchi district have been ordered to be closed by the Department of Elementary Education this academic year.

All the schools are said to have been functioning without recognition from the government.

The schools were ordered to be closed after inspections by the respective Assistant Elementary Education Officers, V.Jeyakumar, District Elementary Education Officer (in-charge) and Chief Educational Officer, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, told The Hindu on Monday.

“Steps have been taken to ensure that the children (of the schools ordered to be closed) were admitted to neighbouring government, aided, or recognised private schools,” Mr. Jeyakumar said.

The following are the schools that have been ordered to be closed: Evergreen Nursery and Elementary School, Kuthbisha Street, Thennur; St.Joseph’s Nursery School, Maristhoppu; Shreyas Kids School, XI Cross, Tiruchi; Green Park Play School, Woraiyur; Ikra Nursery School, Thennur Khajathoppu;A.M.Kids Minna Fathima, Palakkarai MK Santhu; Ilaiyaraja Nursery School, Maruvathur (A); Thiruvalluvar Nursery School, Alathudaiyanpatti Pachaperumalpatti (via); Global Park Nursery, Ezhurpatti, Thottiyam; Veda Nursery School, Mavilipatti, Thathaiyengarpet; Little Angels Play School, Iyyappa Nagar; NSF, Royal Nagar Kattur; Crescent Nursery School, Ramachandra Nagar, Edamalaipattipudur; Tonny’s Nursery School, K.K.Nagar; Vignesh Montessori Play School, Amma Mandapam Salai, Srirangam; Nirmala Nursery School, Kuzhumani; Kalaivani Nursery School, Jeeyapuram;Narendra Nursery and Elementary School, Thiruparaithurai; Bharath Nursery School, Manachanallur; St.John Nursery School, Siruganur; Arunvasagam Nursery and Elementary School, Thudaiyur; KRK Nursery School, Kadapichampatti; and St.John Nursery and Elementary School, Nallendrapuram, Edumalai post.
