175 petitions received at pension adalat

Tiruchi railway division conducted a pension adalat here on Monday to redress the grievances of railway pensioners. In all, 175 representations pertaining to pension dues, revision of pension, grant of fixed medical allowance, and modified assured career progression were received prior to October 31, and the grievances of almost all pensioners have been fully redressed.

On the day of the adalat, 17 fresh pensioners were heard.

A total sum of Rs. 3,32,180 was arranged in favour of the eligible pensioners towards arrears of pension and settlement dues.

Manjula Rangarajan, Divisional Railway Manager, distributed cheques / pension orders during the adalat. The next adalat will be held during July 2014, a release here said.
