Water supply, sewage system and garbage clearance discussed
Sixteen trainee IAS officers of the 2011 batch, held discussions with Corporation authorities on the provision of basic amenities. The discussion-cum-training session, jointly handled by Mayor A. Jaya and Corporation Commissioner, K. Veera Raghava Rao, dwelt on the various schemes put in place by the city corporation.
The schemes that were discussed during the meeting included drinking water supply, underground sewage system, maintenance of street lights, garbage removal system, and maintenance of drainage filters.
The incorporation of latest technology into all the schemes, administration of the corporation, the responsibilities of the elected representatives and public hygiene also featured prominently in the discussion.
To further their understanding of the different schemes in operation, Mr. Veera Raghava Rao used visual aids to support his presentation. As a part of their two-day training visit to Tiruchi and Thanjavur districts, the 16 IAS officers under training will also be exposed to the art and culture characteristic to the State.
