The two-day Kerala Entrepreneurial Youth (KEY) Summit drew to a close on Wednesday with five youngsters who had come up with prize-winning business ideas being promised financial support.

The youth who would get financial support are Tijo Thomas, Dharini, Pradeep, Amal Prathap and Irshadul Islam. They were chosen from among 300 candidates at the ‘Green Room’ funding platform held as part of the summit. They would be provided with seed funding and technical support by the KSIDC.

Inaugurating the valedictory session of the summit, Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran called upon the youth to turn their attention to the tourism sector, which was a money spinner. The Tourism Department, he said, would provide them support in terms of seed funding, providing technical know-how and adequate mentorship for their out-of-the-box ideas.

Offering felicitations, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) managing director M. Beena said the KSIDC would soon come out with schemes targeted specifically at women entrepreneurs.
