The Poonthura police on arrested a youth for alleged sexual abuse of his minor cousin. According to the police, the victim has been residing at her cousin’s house for close to a year while her parents were settled in Kozhikode.
The traumatic experience that she has allegedly been facing for around nine months came to light when she was questioned by her mother, who sensed something amiss. The accused had also threatened her from revealing the alleged sexual abuse, the police said.
The accused was arrested late Wednesday after being booked under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. He has been remanded to judicial custody. (EOM/SBG)
