A group of women on Thursday took out a vehicle rally in the city by in protest against the State government’s liquor policy. The rally was organised as a prelude to the Secretariat march to be held on October 23.

KPCC former president V.M. Sudheeran, who flagged-off the rally, alleged that the government had held deliberations with the liquor lobby alone, prior to formulating the liquor policy. On the other hand, socio-cultural, spiritual and Gandhian leaders were denied the opportunity to voice their stance on the issue. Thiruvananthapuram Archbishop Soosa Pakiam M. inaugurated the programme. Palayam Imam P.V. Suhaib Moulavi, and Swami Aswathi Thirunal of the Ekalavya Ashram were present.
