The body of a 27-year-old woman, Hajira, a native of Malappuram, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her house at Tharattavila near Malayinkeezhu here on Sunday.
According to the Malayinkeezhu police, Hajira, the wife of Rajesh, 37, and mother of his 18-month-old child, was suffering from heart ailments for some time, and had recently undergone surgeries as well. She was also reportedly disturbed that her family had disowned her after the couple’s inter-religious marriage five years back when Rajesh was working in Malappuram. Rajesh was away from home on Sunday and neighbours, who saw the infant crying outside the house, found the body hanging inside at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday. — Special Correspondent
