Woman found dead in Thiruvananthapuram

Bindudevi, 45, was found dead in her house at Pottakuzhi in the city on at 7 a.m. on Thursday. The Medical College police said she was under treatment for mental problems for over 20 years and was staying alone in the house. Her husband and three children lived separately. Relatives were taking care of her and she was usually locked inside the room after having food. On Thursday, a relative who reached the house with her breakfast found her lying dead inside the house, the police said.

Unidentified body found

The body of an unidentified man, suspected to be around 45 years old, was found in the Karamana river, near the Mangattukadavu bridge on Thursday. The Poojapura police said a telephone number found on the body had been traced to Poozhanadu, near Amboori, under the Neyyar police station limits.

Policeman hit

A two-wheeler hit Anil Kumar, a senior civil police officer attached to the Medical College police station, during a routine vehicle check near pattom on Thursday. The rider fled the scene. Mr. Anil Kumar was standing near the police jeep while the sub-inspector and others were stopping vehicles near Vydyuthi Bhavan at Pattom when the speeding two-wheeler came by, the police said. The rider did not stop on being signalled to do so and rammed the officer while trying to get away.
