Woman falls off Thiruvananthapuram bus, injured

A woman sustained serious head injuries after she fell off a moving Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus as it was manoeuvering the roundabout in front of the MLA Quarters here on Friday.

She was identified as Nirmala, 48, a resident of Rajaji Nagar. According to the Traffic Police, the woman had fallen off the bus, which was headed towards East Fort around 4 p.m., and had hit her head on the road. She was immediately rushed in a police vehicle that was nearby to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, where she had not gained consciousness even at 9.30 p.m. and was about to be taken in for an emergency surgery. She was still in a critical condition, hospital authorities said.
