Water supply restored

The Kerala Water Authority has said the water supply in the city that was disrupted in several areas, catered to by the Observatory Hill reservoir, was restored by noon on Thursday.

The disruption in supply was following a burst on the transmission mainline bringing water to the city from Aruvikkara on Wednesday.

Works completed

KWA Chief Engineer (Southern Region) P. Sreekumaran Nair said the repair works were completed early on Thursday, and that pumping had begun by 9 a.m.

Supply was restored in most areas by noon, and in some elevated areas by evening.

But in case of any snags, public in need of water could contact the KWA for tanker supply by calling on 85476-38181 or by sending an SMS to the same number.

They could also call the Emergency and Helplines on 0471-2322674, 155313 (toll free), 0471-2328654, and 2328992 (extension for both - 400).
