The city Corporation conducted the latest in its series of ward-level conventions in the Medical College ward here on Sunday.

Being held to promote decentralised systems of waste management, these conventions serve as a one-stop shop for people to complete all paperwork to avail themselves of subsidies offered by the government to set up pipe-composts or biogas plants.

Mayor K. Chandrika inaugurated the function.

Health supervisor P.K. Sasikumar held classes to explain how these systems should be maintained.

Service providers of biogas plants were also present at the convention.
