VS lashes out at Damodaran

July 21, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:48 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Communist Party of India (Marxist) veteran V.S. Achuthanandan has come down heavily on senior High Court lawyer M.K. Damodaran for his reported insinuation that he (Mr. Achuthanandan) was behind the controversy over Mr. Damodaran’s appointment as legal adviser to the Chief Minister.

Replying to questions from reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Achuthanandan said Mr. Damodaran appeared to have taken on him after having suffered a setback in the public domain. He was also confident that the people at large would reject with the contempt it deserved what Mr. Damodaran had said about him.

Mr. Achuthanandan also acknowledged that he had written to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan urging him to retain Susheela R. Bhatt as special government pleader to handle major land cases pending before the High Court.
