For the farmers of Kuttichal, Nellanadu, and Tholicode panchayats near here, ‘Vishukani’ is always a spread of vegetables and fruits raised in their farms.
On Friday, they arranged such a ‘kani’ for the city residents on the museum premises. Each group had beautifully arranged their crops and other auspicious articles. Krishnan Nair, a farmer from Kuttichal, said each family should try to organise ‘kani’ using vegetables from its garden. Visitors were presented with a ‘kani’ kit. The kit comprised a book on farming, agriculture produce, and seedlings. “Such programmes will bring the younger generation closer to traditions,” a member of Agri-Friends, said.
