An all-party meeting held at Vilappil panchayat near here on Wednesday prepared a shortlist of four persons for possible inclusion in the committee mandated by the High Court to study the environmental impact of the solid-waste treatment plant at the panchayat.
A final call on the list would be taken after another meeting on Thursday, panchayat president Shobhana Kumari said. The shortlist of environmentalists was prepared with due diligence and people were chosen for their scientific and legal expertise in the matter, she added.
