Vice-President’s visit: traffic restrictions in Thiruvananthapuram

In view of the visit of Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, traffic restrictions will be enforced by the police on various routes in the city on Wednesday.

The restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. will be as follows: Vehicles coming from the Nedumangadu side towards Thampanoor and East Fort have to come via Peroorkada – Kowdiar – TTC – Devaswom Board Junction – Nanthancode – Corporation Point – RR Lamp, while those from Thampanoor and East Fort areas towards Nedumangadu have to go via RR Lamp – Corporation Point – Nandencode – Devaswom Board Junction – TTC – Kowdiar – Ambalamukku.

Vehicles from the Vattiyoorkavu side towards Thampanoor and East Fort have to go via Sasthamangalam – Pipinmoodu – Oolampara – Ambalamukku – Kowdiar – TTC – Devaswom Board Junction – Nanthancode – Corporation Point – RR Lamp.

Those from Thampanoor and East Fort towards Vattiyoorkavu have to go via RR Lamp – Corporation Point – Nanthancode – Devaswom Board Junction – TTC – Kowdiar – Ambalamukku – Oolampara – Pipinmoodu – Sasthamangalam.

Vehicles from Kattakada and Thirumala towards Thampanoor and East Fort areas have to go via Poojapura – Kunchalummoodu – Karamana – Killipalam – Choorakkattu Palayam – Thampanoor Flyover while those from Thampanoor and East Fort towards Kattakada and Thirumala have to go via Overbridge – Thampanoor – Thampanoor Flyover – Choorakkattu Palayam – Killipalam – Karamana – Kunchalummoodu – Poojapura.

From 9 a.m. to 12 noon, the restrictions will be as follows:

Vehicles from the NH Road and MC Road towards Thampanoor and East Fort have to go via Pattom – Kuravankonam – Kowdiar – Ambalamukku – Kurissadi – Oolampara – Pipinmoodu – Sasthamangalam – Kochar Road – Edapazhinji – SMC – Vazhuthacaud while those from the Thampanoor side towards NH Road and MC Road have go via Aristo Junction – Panavila – Under-passage – Asan Square – General Hospital Junction – Pattoor – Pallimukku – Kannammoola – Kumarapuram – Medical College – Ulloor – Kesavadasapuram. Those from the East Fort side towards NH Road and MC Road have to go via Statue – VJT Hall – Asan Square – General Hospital Junction – Pattoor – Pallimukku – Kannammoola – Kumarapuram – Medical College – Ulloor – Kesavadasapuram.

Vehicles from the Nedumangadu side towards Thampanoor and East Fort and in the return direction have to take the Peroorkada – Pipinmoodu – Sasthamangalam – Kochar Road – Edapazhinji – SMC – Vazhuthacaud – Xanadu – Thycaud – Thampanoor Flyover – Killipalam – Attakulangara to East Fort and via Xanadu – Panavila – Aristo Junction to Thampanoor.

Vehicles from East Fort towards Vattiyoorkavu have to go via Thampanoor flyover – Thycaud – Vazhuthacaud – SMC – Edapazhinji – Kochar Road – Maruthamkuzhi.

The restrictions from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. will be as follows:

Vehicles from MC Road towards Thampanoor and East Fort areas have to go via Mannanthala – Mukkola – Kudappanakunnu – Peroorkada – Pipinmoodu – Sasthamangalam – Kochar Road – Edapazhinji – SMC – Vazhuthacaud.

Those from the NH Road towards Thampanoor and East Fort have to go via Kesavadasapuram – Paruthipara – Muttada – Ambalamukku – Oolampara – Pipinmoodu – Sasthamangalam – Kochar Road – Edapazhinji – SMC – Vazhuthacaud.

Vehicles from Nedumangadu towards Thampanoor and East Fort and in the reverse direction have to go via Peroorkada – Pipinmoodu – Sasthamangalam – Kochar Road – Edapazhinji – SMC – Vazhuthacaud while those from the Thampanoor side to NH Road and MC Road have to go via Aristo Junction – Panavila – Under-passage – Asan Square – PMG – Plammoodu – Pattom.

Those from the East Fort side to NH Road and MC Road have to via Overbridge – Thampanoor – Aristo Junction – Panavila – Under-passage – Asan Square – PMG – Plammoodu – Pattom.

Meanwhile, the Ganesh immersion procession on Tuesday will begin from the Pazhavangadi Ganapathy Temple and pass via Overbridge – Ayurveda College – Statue – Palayam – General Hospital – Pattoor – Pettah – Chakka – All Saints’ College and proceed towards Shanghumughom. Traffic restrictions will be in place for the procession which is likely to begin after 4 p.m.
