Veteran Malayalam journalist Vithura Baby dead

He made a mark as a sports and film journalist and had later worked in various publications, including Mangalam daily.

Veteran journalist Vithura Baby died here on Wednesday. He was 76.

Mr. Baby suffered a massive cardiac attack, while on an evening walk and was rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital here, where he was pronounced brought dead. Mr. Baby was part of the editorial team of Janayugom , the organ of the Communist Party of India. He made a mark as a sports and film journalist and had later worked in various publications, including Mangalam daily. His book ‘Kinnarangalum Punnarangalu’ had won the Vayana Puraskaram in 2011. He has also authored other books, including ‘Sathyathinte Adiverukal Thedi.’

He is survived by his wife and son. The cremation will take place on Thursday.
