Vattiyurkavu polytechnic to get new academic block

The Vattiyurkavu Central Polytechnic is set to get a new academic block.

Minister for Public Works G. Sudhakaran laid the foundation stone for a Rs.4.46-crore three-storey building for the polytechnic. In his address, the Minister said that after general education, the government was giving maximum emphasis to technical education.

He called for the polytechnic building to come up in harmony with nature.

Minister for Education C. Ravindranath who presided over the function said that in the next one year, all polytechnics in the State would have to prepare academic master plans and fucntion according to it. Only then would it be possible for academic institutions to become centres of excellence.

K. Muraleedharan, MLA, inaugurated the Wi-Fi campus, and Mayor V.K. Prasanth the redesigned website of the college.
