KASARAGOD: The family members of the deceased said he could have committed suicide, the police said. Sachin Kotakar, 30, a native of Kankanady in Mangalore, had come to his wife’s house at Kumbla on Saturday night, they said.
Sachin, along with his wife, also a software engineer, had come home on a 45- day leave. He was all set to return to the U.S. via Bangalore on Sunday night. Local people suspected foul play in the death of Sachin.However, the family members were of the view that he could have committed suicide owing to tension.
Sachin, on reaching his wife’s house around 8 p.m. from Mangalore, left immediately in his car stating that he was going to check if his return ticket was confirmed. A search was launched by his relatives from Mangalore on learning that he had failed to return to his wife’s house.
Sachin’s body was found under mysterious circumstances on the Mogral Koppalam beach near Kumbla on Sunday morning, the police said. His car was found abandoned at nearby Koyipadi. A case of unnatural death was registered in connection with the incident, the police.
