They can be seen donning various roles at the venues of IFFK. Some of them work at the media cell, some are volunteers and anchors, while others simply prefer to watch movies.
The students of the Department of Communication and Journalism, University of Kerala, just cannot miss the IFFK. Even if it means staying back at their dilapidated university hostel on the Karyavattom campus that has been officially shut down for repairs. “Our hostel was closed on December 1 for one month after pieces of concrete began to fall from the roof, injuring students. The hostel has been in a bad shape for a long time. Although students from all the other departments left the campus, we stayed back to attend the film festival,” M.C. Chithresh, a first-year student, said.
But, it is not all fun for the students at the festival. They will also interact with film personalities for their assignments. The students also released an exclusive IFFK newsletter titled ‘Spotlight' that was released on the inaugural day of the festival.
