Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay will launch a month-long ‘Janmadina Poojitha Samarpana Aghosham - Navapoojitham' programme at Santhigiri Ashram on August 21 to mark the 85th birth anniversary celebrations of the Ashram's founder, Guru Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru.
The function, which will also mark one year of the Parnasala Dedication, will be presided over by Ramesh Chennithala, MLA.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is scheduled to inaugurate the ‘Navapoojitham' function on September 2.
As part of the month-long celebration, programmes will be conducted at the Guru's Janmagriham (birth place) at Chandiroor in Alappuzha and various branch ashrams and centres inside and outside Kerala. The ‘Janmagriha Theerthayathra' and ‘Navapoojitham' meeting will be conducted on August 28 at the Branch Ashram, Chandiroor. Union Power Minister K.C. Venugopal will inaugurate the meeting.
The Ernakulam Branch Ashram will celebrate its 11th ‘Prathishta Varshikam' on August 22, as part of ‘Navapoojitham.' Excise Minister K. Babu will inaugurate the meeting. The ‘Navapoojitham' celebrations will end with the ‘Poornakumbha Mela' on September 20.
