‘#Future,’ first-of-its-kind Global Digital summit, to take place in Kochi on March 22

A first-of-its-kind Global Digital summit called ‘#Future’ will take place in Kochi on March 22, 2018. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced the summit and released its logo at a press meet here.

The two-day summit will be an industry initiative supported by the State government. The idea for such a summit was one of the recommendations of the High Power IT Committee (HPIC) constituted by the State government. This would be the first global IT summit in Kerala, Mr. Vijayan said.

#Future will see the participation of 2,000 professionals, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders. Over 30 global business leaders in the knowledge industry wwill share their insights at the summit.

Digital experience theatre

One of the highlights of the event would be the digital experience theatre — a state-of-the-art virtually simulated interactive platform where global companies would showcase their innovations, V.K. Mathews, Convener of the summit and a member of the HPIC said. A direct outcome of the summit would be the formation of a ‘Digital Achievers Network of Kerala Origin,’ the members of which would become the brand ambassadors of Kerala, Mr Mathews added.

The overall theme of the event is ‘Towards a digital future.’ The 2018 summit will also focus on themes like technology disruption and future of jobs, technology for inclusion of differently abled and digital life of tomorrow.

Chief Secretary K.M. Abraham, Chairman of HPIC and founder member of Infosys S.D. Shibulal, and CEO, Kerala IT Parks Hrishikesh Nair, also attended. The event is envisaged as a bi-yearly one.
