Parking problems on the Overbridge-Attakulangara corridor will be solved to some extent with the commissioning of the Melepazhavangadi flyover.
Pay-and-park facility is to be created in the space beneath the flyover.
As many as 55 four-wheelers and 130 two-wheelers can be parked in the space earmarked for parking. The remaining space below the flyover on the Powerhouse and Thakaraparambu roads will be landscaped by the TRDCL. The parking lot will be given to private party through bidding by the Kerala Road Fund Board. The decision has been taken to prevent shops in the locality from cornering the space for parking their customers’ vehicles.
