Two held on assault charge

The Kovalam police have taken into custody two persons for allegedly attacking a youth during a scuffle at a bar hotel on Thursday night.

The police identified the victim as Abhilash, 32, of Kovalam. The incident occurred on the premises of a bar hotel around 11.30 p.m. Abhilash, who is suspected to have picked up a quarrel with a gang at the parking lot, was stabbed in his chest. While the gang fled from the spot, the police apprehended two persons in connection with the case. However, their identifies were yet to be divulged. Abhilash was rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital where his condition is stable, the police said. The Kovalam police have registered a case in connection with the incident. Efforts are on to apprehend two more persons who are suspected to have direct involvement in the attack.
