Two persons, allegedly wholesale dealers of ganja in the city, were arrested by the Thiruvallam police here on Monday.

The police said Shanthi, 40, of Beemapally and Krishnamurthy, 42, of Thiruvallam, were arrested from Thiruvallam along with two kgs of ganja. The two were suppliers to ‘retailers’ in the city’s markets, Valiathura, Poonthura and the Kovalam bypass road. While Krishnamurthy garnered orders, Shanthi handled the supplies on her scooter.

The police team led by Suresh V. Nair, Circle Inspector, Nemom and Pramod Kumar, CI, Control Room, had been after the duo for some time and finally managed to nab them on Monday. Shanthi had been released from jail just one month back after being sentenced in other cases, including possession and sale of ganja, the police said. The two were produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
