Two arrested in assault case in Trivandrum

: Two youths were arrested by the Kazhakkuttom police on the charge of attempted murder. According to the police, Alan Roy, 25, and Manu, 26, both natives of Kumizhikara, Kazhakootam, had on Friday hacked Santosh.

The attack was a sequel to a quarrel between them during a temple festival last year. Santosh is undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital after suffering serious injuries. The accused, meanwhile, were produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.

One killed in accident

Zubain Zahad, 23, was killed at Manthara, near Varkala, after the two-wheeler he was riding was hit by a bus at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday.

He was declared brought dead at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. Zubain, son of Zaharuddin of Manthara, was an engineering student, the police said. The body has been shifted to the MCH morgue.
