The volunteers of the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD)’s Trauma Care and Road Safety Utility Service in Thiruvananthapuram (TRUST) will be in the road network in the capital to take those injured in road accidents to hospitals.

Minister for Transport Aryadan Mohammed launched TRUST, the brainchild of Transport and Road Safety Commissioner Rishiraj Singh at a function here on Tuesday.

Former State Police Chief Jacob Punnoose presided over the function.

The TRUST volunteers, trained in administering first aid, will rush those injured to hospitals during road accidents. Plus Two students and others can get enlisted as volunteers.

As many as 37 volunteers had been trained under the first phase of the project, sources said.
