The city’s major hotels, beach resorts and residential associations are all set to welcome 2013. Most of the resorts and five-star joints have planned grand dinners with cocktails, magic shows, live band, elaborate fire works and fashion shows. Hotels have picked up black-red-white dress code for the theme parties.

Electronic Dance Music (EDM) is the top pick by most of the DJs while some have taken to Bollywood tunes for a ‘desi’ touch. DJ Khan, DJ Karthik, DJ Anwar, DJ Akash , DJ Arjun and DJ Teri among many others are gearing up to give the best spins at their turntables. Bands that will liven up the city include Souljam, Down Town from Srilanka, Team Off Black, and The Solid Band.

Musical shows by playback singers Benny Dayal, Vidhu Prathap, Nayana and Amurtha are also highlights and so are performances by pianist Stephen Devassy, dance groups Mystike Monkeys, and VJ Chithra.

Magic showby Nipin Niravath, and comedy skits are the other programmes planned. Most of the hotels have also arranged for taxi services for minimal amount for back and forth transportation. Most of the entry tickets for couples/stag are prices between Rs.2,500-5,000.

Resident associations are also planning family gatherings, and cultural programmes for the New Year.
