The Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority (TRIDA) will construct a two-storey building at Pettah here to rehabilitate 23 traders who had been displaced following the demolition of a building of the city Corporation for road widening.

The 365 sq. metre commercial complex, estimated to cost Rs.55 lakh, is to come up in eight cents of land handed over by the city Corporation. The building is being constructed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) concept and will be handed over to the Corporation after 25 years, TRIDA chairman C. Ajayakumar said. The foundation stone for the commercial complex will be laid by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs M. Vijayakumar at a function at Pettah on Thursday. It is to be completed within six months, Mr. Ajayakumar said.
