Traffic curbs tomorrow

Traffic restrictions will be in place on the Kazhakuttam-Kovalam bypass from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday in connection with the Pongala festival at the Karikkakom Sree Chamundi Devi temple.

KSRTC buses from and towards East Fort and Thampanoor should ply via Pettah police station– Kannamoola–Kumarapuram–Poonthi Road–World Market Junction via the Karikkakom temple and the Chakka bypass junction.

Vehicles would not be allowed to proceed from Chakka Junction towards Kazhakuttam.

They have to proceed via Kallummoodu, Ponnara Bridge, Valiathura, Shangumughom, Veli and Thumba or via Pettah, Kumarapuram, Medical College and Sreekaryam.

They could also go via Pattoor, General Hospital, Asan Square, Palayam, Pattom, Ulloor and Sreekaryam towards Kazhakuttam.

There would also be traffic restrictions and diversions on vehicles from the Kovalam side towards Attingal and from Kazhakuttam towards Thampanoor and East Fort. The public have been asked to call up with suggestions or complaints on 0471-2558731, 2558732, 94979 87001 and 94979 87002.
