Traffic curbs in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday

Traffic restrictions will be in place in the city on Friday in connection with the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The restrictions on Friday would be in place from 4 p.m. in areas including the Airport, Shanghumughom, All Saints, Chakka bypass, Pettah, Pattoor, Asan Square, Palayam, RR Lamp, Corporation Point, Museum, Vellayambalam and Raj Bhavan, according to a press release issued by City Police Commissioner P. Vijayan.

Vehicles from the airport toward the city would have to go via Valiyathura – Ponnara Bridge – Kallummoodu – Eenchakkal while those from the Palayam side toward Shanghumughom and the airport would have to go via Ayurveda College – Uppidamoodu Bridge – West Fort – Eenchakkal – Valiyathura or via PMG – Pattom – Kumarapuram – KIMS – Venpalavattom Junction – Veli – Vettukadu – Shangumugham.

Vehicles from the Nedumangadu side towards Thampanoor and East Fort should go via Peroorkada – Oolampara – Pipinmoodu – Sasthamangalam – Kochar Road – Edapazhinji – SMS – Vazhuthacaud.

Vehicles from the MC Road side toward Thampanoor and East Fort and in the return direction should take the Mannanthala – Mukkola – Peroorkada – Pipinmoodu – Shasthamangalam – Kochar Road – Edapazhinji – SMC – Vazhuthacaud route.

Traffic from the NH road towards Thampanoor and East Fort and in the return direction should go via Ulloor – Kesavadasapuram – Pattom – Kowdiar – Ambalamukku – Kurissadi – Oolampara – Pipinmoodu – Sasthamangalam – Kochar Road – Edapazhinji – SMC – Vazhuthacaud route.

Vehicles from the East Fort side towards Vattiyoorkavu should go via Thampanoor – Flyover – Thycaud – Vazhuthacaud – SMC – Edapazhinji – Kochar Road – Maruthamkuzhi.

No parking

Parking of vehicles would not be allowed near Raj Bhavan, Vellayambalam, Kanakakunnu, Museum, Corporation Point, RR Lamp Junction, Palayam, Asan Square, AKG Centre, General Hospital Junction, Pattoor, Pettah, Chakka, All Saints, Shangumughom, Lords Hospital Junction, Venpalavattom, Akkulam Bridge, Thampuranmukku, Medanada, Gurunagar, VSSC Junction, Mukkolakal Junction, Attinkuzhi, and the Technopark region.
