Traffic curbs for President’s Trivandrum visit

Traffic restrictions will be in place in the city from 2 p.m. on Friday in connection with the President’s visit to unveil a statue of former Chief Minister K. Karunakaran.

Offices functioning on the Senate Hall campus will not function on Friday. The traffic restrictions will affect vehicle movement at airport, Shangumugham, All Saints, Chaka Bypass, Pettah, Pattoor, Asan Square, RR Lamp, Corporation Point, Museum, Vellayambalam and Raj Bhavan.

Vehicles coming from the airport side towards the city will have to take the Valiyathura - Ponnara Bridge - Kallummoodu - Eenchakkal route while those proceeding from Palayam towards the Shangumugham/ airport side will have to take the Ayurveda college - Uppidamoodu bridge - West Fort- Eenchakkal- Valiyathura route or the PMG - Pattom - Kumarapuram - KIMS - Venpalavattom Junction - Veli - Vettukadu - Shangumugham route.

Vehicles from East Fort towards Vattiyoorkavu will have to proceed via Thampanoor – flyover- Thycaud – Vazhuthacaud – SMC- Edapazhinji - Kochar Road- Maruthamkuzhi.

The public can dial 9497987001 or 0471-2558726 and 2558731 to register complaints and suggestions, a release said.
