Thousands take PSC exam

As many as 11,83,328 candidates had applied for last grade examination

Thousands of candidates appeared for the Last Grade Servant (Company-Corporation-Board) examination conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission on Saturday.

As many as 11,83,328 candidates had applied for the examination.

Of these, 5,95,720 candidates who had applied seeking Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad, and Kozhikode as examination centres took the exam in the first phase.

From the capital

The most number of applicants were from Thiruvananthapuram — 96,880, and the least from Pathanamthitta — 27,870.

Examination centres were arranged in all districts. Most women and differently abled candidates appeared for the exam in their own taluks. However, women who had selected Thiruvananthapuram as the exam centre had to take the exam in nearby taluks and districts.

Maximum number of exam centres were in Thiruvananthapuram, 399, and the least in Kasaragod, 71.

The second phase examination will be held on October 28.
