The city Corporation has been chosen for the State government’s ‘Mahanagara palika’ award for the Best Corporation in the financial year 2016-17. The award was declared at the Municipal Day celebrations at Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad district.

Mayor V.K. Prasanth and Additional Secretary K. Harikumar received the award from Minister for Local Self-Governments K.T. Jaleel. The municipal corporations in the State were ranked on the basis of 20 factors, including service delivery, own fund collection, waste treatment and implementation of Union and State government schemes.
