Children attending the Mampazhakkalam summer camp here had a day to remember on Wednesday when magician Gopinath Muthukad taught them a significant message for life through a magic trick.

The ‘motivational magic’ event saw Mr. Muthukad in close interaction with the children, parents and Panchayats Minister M.K. Muneer.

He then put Dr. Muneer’s watch inside an envelope, placed it on a table, hit it with a hammer, and asked the Minister what he felt about what had happened.

Dr. Muneer replied, “It is nature that decides everything.” Soon the envelope was opened, to reveal the watch intact.

The best part of the show was Mr. Muthukad’s disclosure that all that had happened on the stage, including the random interaction with the children and the Minister’s words, were done according to a script which had been placed inside a locked box that was kept amidst the children.

He told the children to remain unruffled even in the face of the biggest of losses.

Dr. Muneer said similar camps should be organised in all districts.
