Teachers hold day-night dharna

April 06, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:19 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

: The day-night dharna organised by the Association of Kerala Government College Teachers (AKGCT) here on Tuesday demanding, among other things, disbursal of salary on the second working day of the month, restoration of the Self-Drawing Officer status to teachers and the revocation of false cases against teachers was inaugurated by CPI(M) leader Anavoor Nagappan.

A press note issued quoted Mr. Nagappan as saying that there was a stalemate on all fronts under this government’s rule. Even the welfare pension for poor people was not being disbursed. By revoking the SDO facility, the government has meted out extreme injustice to teachers.
