The survey of forestland using modern techniques will be completed in six months, Minister for Forest K. Raju has said.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Consultative Workshop on Modern Survey Techniques organised by the Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department here on Monday. Proper survey and demarcation of the forestland can reduce the boundary disputes and straying of wild animals into residential areas. The funds allotted for the maintenance of roads in tribal colonies will be properly utilised, the Minister said, adding that the department will ensure the safety of people living close to the forest areas in the State.

At the function, 90 forest personnel who successfully completed the training in modern higher survey were given certificates.
