Action sought against panchayat chief

: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president V. M. Sudheeran has demanded legal action against Kadakkal panchayat president for insulting Kerala Pradesh Mahila Congress president Bindu Krishna when she visited the hospital to express solidarity with an aged woman who had been allegedly molested.

Addressing a march organised by the Mahila Congress here in protest against the State government’s failure to protect women on Friday, Mr. Sudheeran criticised the police for its inaction on the complaint filed by Ms. Krishna.

He protested against the police refusal to the Congress party to organise a public meeting in this connection. He urged the State governmeent to order a probe into the sectarian steps taken by the Kadakkal police.
