Streamlining Onam traffic

The city Corporation, on Saturday, convened a meeting of people’s representatives and officials to streamline parking during the festive season. At the meeting attended by the Mayor, it was decided that the University Office Campus, University College, Sanskrit College Campus, Putharikandam Maidan, LMS Church Compound, schools including Attakulangara, St. Joseph’s and Fort High School will be used as parking spaces, a press release from the Corporation said.

It was also decided that on August 22 and 23, applications will be invited from those interested in vending on streets between August 25 and September 3 as part of Onam celebrations.

Pre-paid counter

The forum also called for the setting up of a pre-paid autorickshaw counter at the Pettah railway station. The working conditions of street lamps was also raised at the discussion.
