A public protest was held at Chengalchoola on Sunday against the move to set up an outlet of the Beverages Corporation near the locality.

The protest, which was organised by the people’s agitation committee, was inaugurated by Fr. Eugene Pereira, Vicar General, Latin Archdiocese. Committee convener A.G. Sarath presided. Pachalloor Abdul Salim Maulavi administered the oath during the protest.

Jinu Pennoose, pastor, spoke about intoxicants and their ills.
