The valuation of Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination papers drew to a close in the State on Saturday.
The valuation, which began on April 1, was held in 54 camps under four zones. As many as 11,059 teachers (assistant examiners) and nearly 1,106 chief examiners took part in it.
The camps began on a bumpy note after teachers kept in the reserve for valuation duty reached the camps in some places on the opening day only to find they had no work.
K.I. Lal, Secretary to the Commissioner for Government Examinations, said the camps were smooth with adequate number of teachers in attendance. No software glitches were reported, he said.
Entry of marks
Simultaneous entry of marks is under way at the camps, and the mark sheets reach the Pareeksha Bhavan for verification. The verification process for the papers valued on Saturday is expected to be completed by Tuesday. Next, the students' continuous evaluation marks, grace marks, and information technology practical marks will be processed along with the marks obtained in the theory papers. The processing of results may take three to four days, following which exam officials will get an idea of the result status, such as the number of students who secured 'A+' grade in all subjects and so on. This will be presented at a meeting of the exam board, headed by the Director of Public Instruction, and discussions held on aspects such as how the results were as compared to that last year.
Only after the results are acknowledged in the meeting will they be ready for declaration, Mr. Lal said. The results are expected around April 25. As many as 4,76,373 students sat for the SSLC examinations in 2,903 centres this year.
